Abbott laboratoires

For 10 years I have led Cyril Leonard’s UK and German offices helping the then new Divisional Vice President at Abbott, based in Chicago, effectively establish from scratch Abbott’s UK and other extensive European operational facilities, originating occupational databases and formulating real estate strategies for one of the world’s largest pharmaceuticals companies.

We advised them on their European real estate corporate strategy on the US$ 5.4 bn acquisition of Solvay Pharmaceuticals division of the Belgium Solvay Chemicals group and then on key elements of the European part of the new products business (Abbvie) from Abbott and on the UK real estate part of the genetics division sale to Mylan which is creating a US$ 5.3 bn company.

I was also tasked to trouble shoot difficult real estate issues in Moscow, Madrid, Dublin, Frankfurt and Breda and was also responsible as the lead for project coordinating Abbott’s offices and production and research facilities in 17 European countries through my office in Munich.
