AEA was a spin off from the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority into a standalone publicly quoted company. It has become primarily an environmental services consultancy business with some legacy non-core businesses.

Prior to its takeover by Ricardo I led a consultancy project to develop and advise the Board on a corporate real estate strategy that would assist in transforming the business, redesigning its workplace culture and helping enable it recruit top graduates from environment based graduate degrees and research. This involved withdrawing the company’s presence from the high security zone of UKAEA and relocating their Headquarters in central London. This move helped produce a wide-ranging transformation in their workplace culture and corporate image.

The company was acquired by Ricardo PLC and the team at Cyril Leonard continue to advise the Company on its real estate strategy, currently at a time when it is acquiring other businesses.
